About me

I'm Akash and I'm a Student at the University of Auckland

I'm currently in my penultimate year studying a Conjoint Degree in Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) and Bachelor of Science, specialising in Computer Systems Engineering and Statistics.

I currently work as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Auckland teaching fundamental computer science concepts during lab times.

I also volunteer some time at a non-profit organisation as a Software Developer.

My experiences have led me to develop projects using various technologies in Mobile Development, Web Development, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence fields.

My Projects

Study Bot

A Full Stack Web app being developed using Javascript and React for the Frontend, Python and Flask for the backend and MYSQL for the database.

The App is a study planner which allows users to view and add classes and events to a calendar.

UC Games

UC Games is an E-Commerce Mobile Application that showcases video games and is developed natively using Java.

Amazon Prime Video Clone

One of my first Personal Projects and it was implemented using Dart and Flutter. The mobile app was a UI clone to Amazon Prime Video App. All screens (Home, Movies, TV-Shows and Kids ) were built to look identical to the original.

Handwritten Digit Recognizer

This project aims to provide a Artificial Intelligence solution to recognize Handwritten Digits. The program builds and trains two different convolutional neual networks and gives a prediction based on a user-drawn digit. The models are trained using the MNIST dataset, and the interface is developed in Python with PyQt for an easy GUI for user interaction.

IMDB Clone Web App

This web app utilises the OMDB API. The web app was implemented using React, Typescript and CSS. A build and release pipeline was made to deploy the web app using Azure.

UPDATE: Avoid Cloning this project due to security risks in Axios one of the packages used to build the web app.

FPL Assistant

This project was implemented using Typescript and React for the Frontend and GraphQL for the Backend. Its purpose is to aid player selection in the Fantasy Premier League game using Artificial Intelligence to help improve their ranking.
